Leticia’s POV
Okay, since I’m not going down without a fight, I already have a plan to free myself, for a short while, enough to cause damage.
Miranda told me that sicko’s son is coming as well, meaning it won’t be as easy as I wanted it to be, but I can still make it work.
How many hours do I have left? No idea, but not enough, that’s for sure.
I can’t see anything in this room; they blocked the windows for a reason, and in this cage.
“They could have left me a deck of cards or something,” I grumble.
“So you can cut your wrists with the paper?” The head maid says sarcastically.
I turn to stand on my knees and glare at her. “Or to slice your neck,” I retort, a smile forming on my lips. “Why don’t you pick?”
I felt how the aura surrounding her turned murderous.
Before? I would have bitten my tongue, but she threw me to the wolves; I don’t need to hold back anymore.
“Cheeky, for someone who will die soon.”
I shrug. “I think this is the perfect time to show what’s always been on my mind.”
She scoffs. “If that makes your miserable life better, then so be it. I didn’t expect any manners from an orphan.”
I frowned.
“But, I guess you still want to protect that friend of yours. Miranda was her name?” I clench my jaw.
“If you lay a hand on her—“
“That depends on you, Letty. Not me.”
I bit the inside of my cheek until I drew blood. She knows where to strike.
“The Lycans have arrived, but wanna hear some… news?” She stepped closer, and I could finally see the sneer on her face. “Lycan Sinclair and Alpha Dyke came.”
I froze. My entire body tensed. I felt a shiver down my spine.
If it were only my life on the line, I would fight, counter, and even kill her, but now it is not only me she is threatening.
“What do you need from me?” I said with a heavy sigh, my shoulders slumping.
Her lips curved into a wicked and satisfied grin. “Now we are talking.”

“Smile, Letty,” she instructs, pinching my ribs, so I obeyed.
I growled lowly, but in the end, I had to follow what she said.
“I don’t understa—“
“You don’t need to understand,” she cuts me off. “Just smile. If you don’t, you already know the consequences.”
I glare at her, but I continued to fake a smile until my muscles hurt.
She made sure I looked… presentable.
For the first time since I’ve been in this pack, I was given new clothes, perfume, and even some makeup. I can’t help but think I’m a turkey being stuffed for Thanksgiving.
I already know I’m done for, so the least they could…
“Lycan Kayden Sinclair and Lycan Cirrus Dyke are here!” The warrior announces.
I immediately tense up. Even if I say I want this done as quickly as possible, it is a natural reaction from my body.
I know they are dangerous. I’m sure they are aware of everything being said about their families, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the ones spreading those rumors.
I feel something bristling inside me—like a long-sleeping part of me waking up, clawing to get out
What is that? I wonder, but before I could ponder on that weird sensation, I saw a black car approaching the pack house.
I take a deep breath to steady myself and continue to smile despite my nerves.
The car stops right at the entrance, the seconds it takes them to open the door felt like an eternity, and once they do…
Holy…
My jaw dropped to the floor. I mean… who couldn’t when two guys who look like gods stepped out of the freaking car!
One with jet black hair as night, purple eyes which I’ve never seen before, tall as a tree, and built like a tank.
I gulp. Even his scent is alluring.
“You are really going to walk before I do, Sinclair?” A manly voice says right behind him.
The other man has hair as white as snow, with golden eyes. Again, I wonder if all Lycans look like that because they are stupidly tall and broad.
Chins so chiseled I swear they could cut stone, and those muscles…
I have to avert my gaze. I don’t want the two most dangerous men in the country to realize I’m blushing because of how ridiculously handsome they are.
They do say that the most dangerous, poisonous, and lethal creatures come in bright colors, and I guess that applies to wolves as well.
Alpha Sinclair, the dark-haired one, rolls his eyes and continues walking.
The head maid by my side bows, but I’m still in a daze.
The rumors are all wrong. If this is how Alpha Sinclair looks, then I’m sure his father is—
The hell?
“Lycan Sinclair, Alpha Dyke, it’s a pleasure to have you in Silver Claw Pack.”
They both turned their heads to look at the head maid, only to turn their eyes on me, and just then did I realize I had forgotten proper etiquette.
The maid immediately noticed and nudged me with her elbow, digging her elbow into my side.
It didn’t hurt, but I hated that she touched me; still, I decided this was not a worthy fight.
Now with Miranda’s life at stake.
Although once she sees them, she might jump and throw, herself as tribute…
“Excuse her, she is an orphan and wasn’t raised properly. She still needs to le—“
“You claim she is an orphan?” Alpha Sinclair asks, his voice so deep and husky it should be considered illegal.
The head maid blushes. Even she can’t win against that voice. “Y-yes, Leticia was found as a c-child.” She stutters
I almost chuckled at seeing her so flustered.
I’m not sure how old this man is, but I’m certain the head maid is old enough to be his mother.
“Then isn’t her lack of manners the pack’s fault?” He questions, just quirking an eyebrow in an infuriating way that makes me want to punch him.
I frown.
They might be Lycans, but what gave them the right to act like freaking royalty?
“O-of course, Alpha, I-I’ll make sure to scold her properly so she doesn’t make the same mistake twice,” she states.
The asshole Sinclair nodded. He nodded!
What am I, a child?!
“And where is your Alpha?” The other man, who, I’m guessing, is Lycan Dyke, asks.
The head maid clears her throat. “The Alpha and Luna had to check with the warriors because of a breach we had in the borders. They asked me to welcome you with Leticia and to guide you to the office to wait for their return.”
Sinclair scoffs. “They want us to wait? I can see why she lacks decorum. Everyone in the pack is the same way.”
…
Rude.
“Come on, Kayden, they’ll think we are abusing our power,” the other Lycan, who seemed to use his brain more than Sinclair, said teasingly.
At least I know one of their names.
“Why don’t we let this slide? Besides, I’m sure Letty here will keep us company.”
I saw his eyes trail over my body, making me feel slightly uncomfortable and flustered.
I wonder how they will react once I tell them I’m not even eighteen.
Kayden, however, scoffs.
“You never cease to amaze me, Cirrus. Always trying to flirt.”
Cirrus winks at me. “Can’t help myself when I see a beautiful woman right before my eyes.”
…
Am I drunk or hallucinating?
Even the head maid looks astonished. Her eyes were popping out of their sockets.
She can’t believe that these Lycans are bickering and talking about me right in front of her.
“V-very well,” she finally managed to say. “Leticia will keep you company if you don’t mind. Shall we go inside?”
Kayden is the first one to step forward, and the maid follows quickly after, her heels clicking as she hurried to catch up to him.
I, however, am still rooted in my spot. Kayden might be a jerk, but for some reason, I don’t think any of the rumors about them are true.
Were they exaggerated? It doesn’t make sense.
He is a prick, no argument there, but besides that… I don’t feel a murderous or even evil aura rolling off him.
“What are you thinking so intensely about?” Cirrus whispers in my ear.
I yelp and immediately take a step back, making him chuckle.
His voice may not be as velvety as Kayden’s, but it is still deep enough to make anyone’s heart flutter.
“Nothing,” I reply as an instinct.
He takes a step closer, closing the distance. “Hmm, you are a terrible liar, Leticia.”
“Cirrus, move it,” Kayden orders up ahead.
I flinch for a second; his stern tone reminded me why Lycans are so feared.
Cirrus, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying the show.
“Come on, can’t you let me tease her a bit? I love when their scent changes because they get all flustered,” he commented.
Kayden stopped for a second, his fists clenched at his sides. “The only thing I smell is a wet dog.”
…
Harsh? I know I was all sweaty hours ago, but I was cleaned!
Even if I hate to admit this.
“Besides, if you keep flirting with her, she might get her hopes up.”
…
He did not say that.
“Now move it, and stop making her fall for you.”
Okay. I had had enough.
I step forward, chin high, meeting those stupidly beautiful purple eyes.
“What makes you so special, huh?”
