Jade’s pov:
A week passed since I resumed training as any dedicated warrior would. The mornings were dedicated to wolf training. On most afternoons, however, I trained as a witch, under Paulina’s guidance.
Indeed, she might call me mistress, but I was still a real damn novice at this. She gave me a grimoire to look into, and I often found myself studying it.
I was curious, sure, but I also wanted to be able to use my powers without overexerting myself.
She told me all about exhaustion’s tell-tale signs. The issue was different although I tried to not say it out loud. Oh, I recognized said signs all too well, it was actually stopping that was an issue for me.
One evening, as I put Tyler to sleep, Alex turned to me and said softly, “How’s training going for you, love?”
