Powers of Amsety.
When Horus had four sons, his powers were evenly distributed to them.
However as they grew into adulthood it was observed that Hapi was the strongest out of the four brothers and Amsety was the weakest.
It was concluded that the balance of their powers were tipped over.
Amsety was seen as the meek brother (The name Amsety means the Kindly one).
This made Khonsu, the moon god take a certain interest in him and give him the Founding Alpha.
It is unknown at this point of the book whether it was a planned process or not.
