The four sons of Horus are Qebehsenuef, Hapi, Duamatef and Amsety. They were essentially the personification of the four canopic jars that accompanied mummified bodies. Qebehsenuef had the appearance of a falcon in his god form and was known as the guardian of the intestines. Hapi had the appearance of a baboon in his god form and was guardian of the lungs. Duamatef had the appearance of a jackal in his god form and was guardian of the stomach. Lastly, Amsety retained his human appearance in his god form and was guardian of the liver.
