My heart was broken, but Renee had lost both her parents in the space of a day, and her grief was palpable. l can't imagine what is going on in her mind because she was just quiet. She refused to speak before and after the funeral, and it was worrying because she was suppressing her feelings and hiding her pain. l don't want her to grow up with unresolved feelings and hate which is why l needed her to say something. l wanted her to be angry or something but she wasn't reacting to anything.
