5. New Friend.

Penelope's POV

I waited for the claws of that big black wolf to dig into my skin; to tear my skin apart but nothing like that happens. I kept waiting and waiting but don't feel any pain and soon I felt that the wolf is losing its grip around me.

Feeling confused, I open my eyes to see that black wolf is padding away from me. Watching him backing away like that, I immediately stand up on my paws and snarl at him, showing my teeth in a try to make him afraid but the wolf only chuckled before shifting in its human form and here stood a human or we can see one of the most beautiful creatures in front of me.

'He is strong and beautiful, more than our mate' for the first time in last week my wolf talked with me and that too she praised some other wolf which is rare.

I again look at the person standing in front of me and look at the aura around him which is speaking in itself that he is some very strong wolf maybe Beta or alpha in itself.

"Penelope right?" he speaks up making me gasp and I step back while taking my fighting stance and showing him my teeth to back off if he means any danger to me.

"I am no danger," he raises his hands in surrender. "I am here to take you with me. I am sure that Kyle must have told you about me that I will come and will fetch you."

He informs and I immediately relax remembering how Kyle has mentioned his Beta friend which means that the person standing in front of me is a beta.

"So can you shift now? As I think we should leave these woods as it can be dangerous to stay here in this hour of time?" he asks but I shake my head negatively not willing to go with him.

I don't know him so how can I go with him toward his pack. Sure Kyle knows him but still for me he is a stranger.

"You can trust me," he says softly and runs his hand on my wolf, instantly calming my wolf down. "I am Skylar, the beta of Royal pack and I guess that you can easily trust a royal member."

My wolf gasped hearing him, making him chuckle.

"And if you are thinking that you have entered some territory than you are wrong. We are still miles away from kingdom so we should start our journey," he informs me before withdrawing his hand from my head.

"Now shift," he commands but again I nod my head negatively. "It's an order Penelope blue. Shift!" he orders in his Beta tone and my wolf instantly obliged him, knowing the authority in his command.

Once I am shifted, I wear my shirt and glare at the beta who is looking at me with a cocky smile.

"You are glaring at me as if I have caught a sister who was going to steal her brother's chocolate," he teases and I increase my intensity of glare.

"Yes, you just caught me when I was planning to run away from you and any pack. I don't want to go with you," I cross my arms around my chest and declare my decision. "I am done with being a pack member where no one cares for me and I don't want to be part of one anymore, especially not of Royal pack. So you can leave."

The beta sighs and run his hand in his hairs.

"I was aware that you will say something like that only. But you can trust me that you will find good friends in my pack who always support each other no matter what, moreover I will be always there for you and you can always count on me, even in the night," he grins wickedly before winking in my way making me scoff.

"Moreover, I think a beautiful lady like you don't deserve to be a rogue but deserves to live her life in the palace as the queen."

"Stop flirting with me as your flirting is worst," I scoff and glare at him. "Moreover, I don't trust you so how can I believe that I will get respect and entry in your pack."

"About entry, I have talked with King who has allowed me to bring you with myself and about trust," he quickly pulls out his mobile and call someone.

"Here take this and talk with Kyle. He will clear your doubts."

I sighed hearing him and took his phone only to hear the worried voice of Kyle.

"Sky you find Penne. I think that she is somewhere in the forest itself," I hear the worried voice of my brother which make me chuckle.

"It's me only Kyle and he found me."

"Thank Goodness. You know how afraid I have become when Sky told me that you didn't reach that pizzeria on desired time. I just thought that some rogue killed you or you have killed yourself. I was so worried," he literally yelled. "Now be a good girl and go to the kingdom with him."

"But I don't trust him," I shrug. "Do you think that it will be good to go with him?"

"Trust me, when I say that Sky will take good care of you. You remember when last year I have visited a training camp in the kingdom at that time I had to meet Sky and he was very much impressed with you when I told him how my sister is a great fighter and he had wished if you can be warrior in kingdom and see how his wish gets fulfilled."

"But still, how can I believe that they will not treat me like the way dad and everyone treated me?" tears spill out of my eyes at the last part.

"But he and king will understand your worth. You aren't a normal wolf but the strongest she-wolf out there. They will for sure understand your worth. I know that you want to beat yourself and your fate that your mate rejected you but you shouldn't do this. You are young and beautiful. Start your life as kingdom's warrior Penne and I know you will love to protect your kingdom," he sighs and I can hear the pain in his voice.

"I am already missing you like hell Penne and I will try my best to pay you to visit till then Ciao. I am sure that when I will come to visit you Sky will complain that you have kicked his ass hard. I am waiting for the day to hear about this fearless warrior in the kingdom."

"Aren't you dreaming too much?" I chuckled.

"Nah! Because I know that you will make all my imaginations true."

"I will try my best to stand up on your expectations," I sigh and look at the impatient beta. "Ok, I should cut the call as the beta is waiting for me."

"Hey, I have a name," Sky protests and take his phone from my hand where Kyle has hanged up after a promise to visit me. "Call me Sky or Skylar or some cheesy name but not beta, please. I don't like when some beautiful lady likes you call me from my position."

I chuckle hearing the pleading in his voice which reminds me of Kyle. I think that it will not be hard for me to get set in this new life as a part of the royal pack.

"So I guess that you are now ready to come with me to the Palace?" Sky raises his brow teasingly.

"I also think so," I shrug. "So should we leave?"

"Yup," I am about to turn into my wolf to run toward the royal pack when Sky stops me.

"I think it would be good if you climb on me and I run."

"And why so?" I glare at him. "I am not some human who will need to climb on some other wolf to reach my destination."

"But you are weak and it is against my values to let a young lady like you run when she is visibly tired and weak. Moreover, I will love to have a young lady like you climbed on my back," he grinned croakily making me roll my eyes.

"I am not weak and I can shift and run so don't-" before I can complete he took my wrist in his hand and I winced as he touched the part where silver chains were tied.

"See you are still weak due to not eating from long. So it will be good for both of us that you climb on me. I know that you are strong but climb on my back for my satisfaction," he pleads and I nod my head, well aware that he is right.

My wolf is weak, so am I.

Sky again shifts in his black wolf and nudges me to climb on his back. I reluctantly climb on him and wraps my arms around his neck.

Once I am secure on his back, Sky starts to dash in the forest with me, toward my new life and I hope that this time I would not be thrown out from the kingdom like my old pack.
