6. Meeting the King.

Penelope's POV

With my arms wrapped around the wolf of Sky, I again felt secure, same like the way I used to feel when climbed on the back of dad's wolf when I was still a little girl who loved to ride on her dad's back, but gone are those days.

I sigh again thinking of dad and nudge my head in Sky and tighten my arms around his neck before falling asleep well aware that I am safe now.

"Two-minute dad! Let me sleep for two minutes," I groan when someone tries to wake me up. I again feel a soft touch on my face and I groan before clutching on my soft pillow hard. Today my pillow is so soft just like some furs.

I am just praising my pillow when someone pushes me off my bed and I know that it must be Kyle so I kick him hard only to hear a loud groan.

"Ouch Women!! Your kick is really very strong," my eyes open wide hearing the familiar voice which neither belongs to dad nor Kyle but belongs to Sky.

Realization dawns upon me that I have slept on the back on Sky and he is the one to wake me up when I fall off his back. My wolf shook her head at my stupidity and I could feel her feeling a little excited in this new environment, at this new place away from Axel who has given us pain.

"You know you didn't need to push me off your back," I glare at him, well aware that it was my mistake to sleep on his back but I am not the one to ask for forgiveness.

Sky chuckles on hearing me before giving his hand to me. "I am sorry beautiful that I pushed you but I didn't know another way to wake you up. You know I can't speak in wolf form so the only option left was to shift."

I nod my head toward him before taking his hand and I stand up from the ground, dusting off my clothes.

"I hope that my beautiful flower isn't hurt," he smirks and threw his arms around my shoulder.

My wolf snarled when he dares to touch us but I make my wolf understand that intentions of Sky are friendly, and he isn't harmful to which my wolf also agrees and again went in the back of my mind, maybe again consoling herself and trying to make herself strong like before.

"By the way, welcome to the kingdom princess," Sky breaks my trace and pointed toward the kingdom which is in front of us.

I felt a little conscious when I felt eyes of peoples around, only on me. I also don't fail to notice how this kingdom is having very good specimen of a man. Everyman and women were ideal of beauty.

We walked through many streets, shops, and houses in the kingdom before Sky stopped and point towards the palace. A freaking palace. I knew that the king lives in a palace but I thought that they call his house to be a palace but how wrong I was when I notice an actual palace in front of me.

"It's so beautiful," I murmur eyeing the huge garden and building.

"It's not beautiful in comparison to you," Sky again tries to flirt with me and this time I roll my eyes.

"Stop flirting with me Sky," I chuckle. "Don't you have a mate that you are flirting with me?"

"I don't have one," gloomy look appears on his face.

"I am sorry," I feel bad for him. "I didn't know that your mate died."

"Hey, she isn't dead," Sky chuckled. "It's just that I haven't found her and I am just waiting for the day to finally meet her," he shrugs. "By the way, what about your mate?"

My face lost its color after hearing him and I looked down. Realization also passed on his face.

"I am sorry, s**t! I didn't mean to hurt you. It's just........I am sure that you will get a second chance. If not then you can choose your mate. There are many males who have lost their mate, take in our king," he jokes and smiles in my way before pulling me inside the palace. "I am sure that you have someone as destined for you. Axel must be a jerk to not notice how perfect you are."

I smile at his genuine compliment before looking in front, at the huge palace wall which made my mouth drop open. The palace was terrifically huge with a lot of wings and I can guess that it has a lot of rooms, and even has the towers with secret way.

"I hope that my friend here hasn't made you bored with his stupid flirting," I jump a little back hearing an authoritative yet friendly voice, and I turn in the direction of the voice to find that it is another well-built man who is giving full competition to Skylar.

"And who are you?" I ask with a raised brow.

"I am beta Jaxon of this royal pack."

"Another beta?"

Sky and Jaxon both chuckles after hearing me and exchanged a look.

"King has total four betas," Jaxon replies. "Two are out of the kingdom to check on packs and other Kingdoms while I and Sky always stay with King. You see Skylar is stupid so Dexton always keep me with him," he mocks making me chuckle.

"Hey it's not the truth," scoffs sky making me chuckle. "See how you are embracing me in front of this beauty."

I again chuckle seeing his baby like face.

"I think you should change into something presentable before we can take you to the king as he will like to meet you," Jaxon informs me and I nod my head.

"I think I should also go and shower," Skylar stretched his arms tiredly and my eyes nearly popped out seeing his well-crafted muscles and I know that he is very well trained and it will be fun to fight and train with him. "Till then take care of her Jaxon."

Patting on Jaxon's back Skylar left us alone while Jaxon showed me the way toward the bathroom in ground floor itself where I washed my face and literally cringed when I looked at my face which had lost all its color. I am looking so pale and thin which isn't definitely me.

I sigh and shake my head before wearing a fresh pair of dress which can look impressive in front of king. I know that maybe king has let me in his pack but I need to impress him to become his official member.

After changing, I combed my hairs and do a little makeup which makes my wolf cringe as she hates makeup more than me but I want to hide all my dark circles from the king so I have to use makeup.

After satisfied with my look, I walk out to find Jaxon who is still waiting for me.

"Ready to meet King?" he asks and places his hand on small of my back in very gentleman way making my wolf relax who now knows that these both betas are quite friendly.

"I am here," Skylar announces his presence, just before we are going to climb the stairs toward king's office. "She is my guest so I think that I should be the one to introduce her."

Jaxon nods his head in understanding and leaves me. Skylar starts to walk with me toward the king's office and we stop in front of it.

All of the sudden my hands turned sweaty with fear and anxiety, not knowing how the king was going to react after seeing me. I have heard a lot about his anger, I just hope that they are all wrong.

"Don't worry King is very kind and friendly," Sky gives me small smile before entering inside the office after getting a small come in.

I enter behind Sky and my mouth nearly dropped opened when I looked at the most handsome man standing in front of me. King is really a great specimen with his black glassy eyes and dark black hairs with the lean body which is speaking power.

'He is so handsome' My wolf purred in delight before I again look at the king and I know that I am being attracted to his strong and powerful persona like most of the she-wolves.
