Liora’s POV
After Selene left, Rowan tried to start a conversation with me but I ignored him and walked away, going back to the banquet. The mood was still the same with people gathered and gossiping about one thing or the other. I ignore them and just glued my eyes on my phone screen, I felt them staring at me. They were always staring.
The laughter and murmurs soon reduced. I looked up to see Selen walking into the room. I didn’t turn to her right away. I sipped from my glass instead, letting the silence stretch. She cleared her throat at first but no one really paid attention to her, she walked to the middle of the gathering and cleared her throat. Louder this time.
“Liora,” she said, voice slicing through the hum of the banquet. “We all know what you’ve done.”
