All I saw was darkness.
I wasn't sure what I was doing, or how I could even move. But once I smelled the scent coming from Lauren, I lost it.
Kael took control and wrapped his hand around her throat, getting ready to snap her neck. It would have happened, but then Nathan decided to intervene. "Alpha Darius, you need to calm down right now." I snapped out of the trance I was in while giving him a confused look.
It was then that I saw the way that Lauren was struggling to breathe, her hand wrapped around my wrist, trying to pry it off. I stumbled back, releasing her as if her skin had burned me. She crumpled to the ground, coughing and gasping for air, her trembling hands clutching her throat. The red marks left by my grip were already forming, reminding me of what I had done
