(Emma) I stood up and walked out of the room, the door closing behind me with a soft thud. My chest felt tight so I couldn’t stay in there. I needed some space, some air to breathe. As I walked down the hall I noticed how silent it was. It was strange how the quiet could be so loud when you didn’t know where you stood in the world.
