20. Wedding Bells.

[[Unknown] "What is it?" I asked, uninterested. "Mother, you haven't eaten in days or gotten up from your bed," Dinai said with concern. "And why should I do that? My enemies rejoice while I lay here wallowing in my suffering." I complained bitterly. "You heard?" She asked and I nodded. "Yes, the wolves are rejoicing, their beta is getting married and she's expecting a child," I said sadly. "You shouldn't feel depressed over that, their smile will turn to sadness soon, and their laughter tears when their water turns into blood." She comforted me. She was my only remaining child. "What do you have in mind?" I sat up in bed for the first time in days since I heard the terrible news. "It's a secret." She smiled evilly at me. "But first you have to get out of bed, take your bath and eat some food." "That's my girl." I thought and I laughed loudly. "Don't worry mother, it'll be good." She assured me. "What are you planning?" I asked her excitedly. I got out of bed and stood before her anxiously. "No." She shook her head. "Come on, I need a little spoiler to help me go on." I urged her. "Fine." She chuckled. "Let's just say that I've found another host to possess and this time she's closer to the family, she shares the same building with those vile creatures." "This person… by any chance, will she be attending the wedding?" I asked her, looking amused. "Of course, she will be helping the caterers set up and she will be serving the pups." She said proudly. I was impressed, I knew that Dinai would never fail me and even if her brother had been a good for nothing son who gave me cause for concern every time, she was still willing to avenge his death even if he wasn't that good a brother to her. I still remember the last time I was with my son, he told me all his plans against the wolves but I didn't trust them. He was too in love with the man he called his mate, he was blinded and he couldn't see clearly. I sent him away in a rage because he wanted me to help him and I didn't want to because I would never get involved with the conflicts going on on the surface. But now that they had taken him away from me, it was time for me to bring my own war to them and I would not stop till I got blood. Blood for blood. . . [Jade] "How is everything going?" I stood in a pair of overalls with a pencil and board in hand. I was currently overseeing the preparations for the wedding ceremony we were having here at the pack. "Everything is going fine, Luna." They said politely and went about their work. The wedding was scheduled to start in a few hours hence the frenzy state I was in. My mother and some of the other females were with Liya getting her ready while Mason, Sirius, and some of the other males were getting Jayden ready. I was feeling very emotional, Liya asked me to be her bride's maid and Jay had asked Mason to be his best man, Sirius was going to give his niece away. I looked around and confirmed that everything was fine once again, I scanned around for any sign of irregularities because I was kind of paranoid or maybe I just had a gut feeling of some kind but I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want them to be as nervous as I was on such a joyous day. "Luna, it's time for you to get dressed, the bride is almost ready." An Omega said politely. "Ah… yes… thank you," I said and just as I was about to leave with her, I caught sight of someone fussing with the cakes. "Who is that over there?" I asked the Omega beside me. "Oh," Her eyes lit up as she spoke. "That's Nana's niece, she just got back from college and she's really nice." College! "I haven't met her before." I frowned slightly. "Oh, I'm sorry about that, Nana meant to introduce you two but you've been so preoccupied with the preparations that she hasn't had any chances to bring it up." The Omega explained. "It's okay, why is she fussing with the food though?" I asked. "Um… I think she's just helping to set up, Nana must be really busy in the kitchen." The Omega replied. "Okay." I sighed, I had to get this paranoia of mine under control. "Tell Nana that I'd like to see her and her niece in my room, I think I have about twenty minutes free." "Yes, Luna." She bowed slightly and she left. Every moment, every hour, every day, they reminded me of my position, I couldn't even ask them to call me by my name, it was impossible, the wolves had strict laws and they followed hierarchy strictly. *** "My Luna, you look beautiful, you're going to steal the spotlight from the bride today." The females praised me as they finished getting me ready for the ceremony. I was dressed in an emerald green bride's maid dress and I wore a diamond set as an accessory, my auburn hair was done in a high ponytail style and I had a natural looking make-up on. I had on silver heels and a silver clutch. "Thank you very much, I do look beautiful." I smiled at my reflection in the full length mirror as I gave myself a once over. The ceremony was scheduled to start soon and I wanted to meet Liya before the ceremony started so I headed towards the door. "Luna, you requested to see me and my niece?" Nana opened the door and asked hurriedly, they weren't even ready yet. "Luna." The brown eyed girl bowed slightly. "I did but we're almost late now and you two haven't gotten dressed yet." I sighed. "No, our outfit will not take us much time, I'm sorry for not introducing her to you earlier but you were so busy yesterday I couldn't bring myself to bother you." Nana looked sad. "No, Nana, I get it, I was just surprised to see an unfamiliar face fussing with the cakes this morning," I said, the girl looked shocked but she composed herself immediately, even Nana frowned. "I was just helping some of the Omegas with the preparations, Luna." The girl explained. "Yes, she's a very hardworking girl." Nana's eyes lit up as she spoke just like the Omega's eye had when she was talking about the girl. They seemed to like her a lot. "She just returned from college, her parents were murdered during the war so I'm her only living relative," Nana explained. "It's fine, we can get to the details later, what's your name?" I asked the girl. "Oh… um… I… I'm Sasha." She looked flustered. "Okay Sasha, I'm Luna and it's nice to have you here, we'll talk more when I actually have time because now the ceremony is about to start." I smiled at her. "You may leave." "Thank you, Luna." They chorused and bowed slightly before leaving. I don't know what it was but something wasn't right, there was something about Nana's niece Sasha that didn't sit right with me. Unfortunately, I couldn't stand around and think about that, I still had to meet Liya before the ceremony started. Some females trailed after me as I left the room, my dress was so long that they had to pick it up behind me, I wondered why I was almost dressed in a bridal gown myself but I'd realized that there were things that just were in the pack. I knocked gently when I got to Liya's room, at this rate I would not be able to get to my brother until the ceremony started. "Jay, I already told you that you can't see me yet," Liya said, laughing. I laughed too, so Jay had been trying to see her. "No, don't worry, it's just me, Jay is not here," I said, smiling. "Oh, it's Jade, please get the door," Liya said and I heard someone coming up to the door. "Luna." The person bowed when the door opened. I walked in with my females behind and I didn't even notice the person at the door, I started to feel slightly uneasy so I looked back at the person and frowned when I saw Nana's niece. "Why are you here?" I asked immediately. "My… Luna… I'm…" She was finding it hard to speak. "Oh, Jade, she's wonderful, she helped me with my hair, isn't it gorgeous," Liya spoke saving her. I looked at Liya and indeed she was right, the hair was very beautiful. Her gown was a slightly off shoulder white ball gown with layers of lace, she was stunning, I looked at her neck and smiled when I saw that she was wearing the diamond set I had given her. "You look so beautiful, Liya," I said, feeling very emotional. "Ah, ah, no tears today, these hardworking people have spent a lot of hours prepping both of you, no tears." My mother came out from the other room and she spoke. "Hello, mother." I greeted her, she was dressed in a beautiful dark green straight gown that hugged her body, it was also slightly off the shoulder and it had a v neckline, I smiled to think that my mother was showing cleavage for her mate. "If we don't get out there soon, Jay will come here to find his bride." My mother said, she moved closer to me and whispered in my ear. "Stop being so tense, everything will be alright." "I know, mom," I whispered back to her even though I didn't mean what I had said. The wedding bells began to ring and we all gathered ourselves and made our way outside.
