[Mason]
"What the hell is that?" Sirius asked in shock when we broke into Jay and Liya's bedroom.
They were both lying on the bed still in their wedding clothes and they were laid face up but they were not moving, their eyes were wide open and their entire eye including their sclera were colored a kind of blackish green.
"Jade, get in here fast." I hurriedly mind linked her.
"It has to be some kind of magic, it looks like a poisoning of some sort," I said and moved closer to them.
"Don't touch them." Sirius snapped. "Whatever this is is blocking Liya's mind, they're alive but they're not conscious."
Jade rushed into the room a few minutes later and she announced her presence by screaming loudly.
"Jay, oh my God, Liya, the baby, what have they done to them?" She cried out loudly.
Clarice came rushing in too but instead of screaming she just buried her face in Sirius' chest and sobbed quietly.
"We have to calm down and think clearly, Jade you need to think clearly and check them out, let's find a solution soon," I said, holding her shoulders and wiping off her tears.
It wasn't time for tears, it was time for action.
"Let's leave the women here, we have to find out who the traitor is." I mind linked Sirius and he nodded his head.
"Mind link me if you get anything and remember babe, you're strong and you can do this." I pecked Jade on the head before leaving.
Sirius hugged Clarice softly before we left the room. I heard Jade chanting some spells and my chest expanded.
I was proud of my Luna's powers and her strength.
"Assemble the entire security team in the hall at once," I growled in my mind link and I heard them respond with yes Alpha.
Sirius was right behind me as I strode hurriedly to the hall, my wolf was itching to come out and I felt like I had to spill some blood to show them how serious this was.
"Who the f*ck thought it was a good idea to leave the mansion unguarded?" My voice thundered as I yelled at them.
"I'm sorry, Alpha, I was supposed to be on duty but then I was called over to the ceremony." He said, shaking like a leaf.
"Who called you?" Sirius asked him before I could.
"The girl, the new girl, Sa-Sasha, Nana's niece." He answered.
"I should kill you for f*cking up because of a young girl." My eyes turned golden and my claws elongated, even my canines were out.
"Please pardon me, Alpha." The man fell to the ground shaking like a leaf.
"What about the rest of you, was he the only one on duty?" I asked.
"We're sorry, Alpha but we were also called over by the same girl, she said it was all…"
"Are you f*cking kidding me right now?" I saw red and I picked the nearest man by my side and I flung him into a wall angrily.
"Is there another person whose orders you now follow besides mine?" I asked them angrily and picked up another man.
My claws dug into his arm and he was bleeding profusely, I flung him away just like I did the other and he broke into a shelf.
"Bring me that girl!"
"And bring him, Nana, too," Sirius added.
Many of them scrambled out of the hall and went to find the two people, the rest that remained had their heads bowed and I could smell their fear.
"Take care of those two?"
I calmed down a bit and ordered them to take care of the two people I had just injured.
As we waited for the girl and Nana to be brought, I hoped to the goddess that Jade found a cure soon and that it did not affect Liya's baby.
"We should contact the witches, if not all of them then maybe Zefa and my aunt," Sirius said.
"It can't hurt to have more hands on deck," I told him.
After a short while, some men came in carrying a wailing Sasha and a grunting Nana.
"Kneel," I ordered both of them the moment the men released them.
Unable to resist the Alpha's commands, they dropped to their knees in front of me, the girl was crying while Nana looked very sad and disturbed.
"Who is she?" I asked Nana.
"She's my niece, the daughter of my sister and her husband." She replied immediately.
"Where are her parents and why is she here?" I asked.
"Her parents died in the war, I'm all she has left." She said now crying.
I felt bad seeing this elder woman that we had come to love because of her amazing cooking, crying before me, but I couldn't take any chances.
"Why are you here?" I turned to the girl and asked impatiently.
I felt better being mean to the girl than Nana.
"I-I c-came b-because I wanted to spend some time with Nana." Her voice shook as she spoke and I frowned.
"Take Nana away, lock her up in her room and make sure that there are two guards posted outside her door, she must not leave for any reason," I ordered the men and they picked her up.
She kept screaming begging me to take her instead of her niece and let the girl go.
"Now, are you ready to talk?" I asked the girl cracking my knuckles.
"Please, I've done nothing wrong, please don't do this to me, I know nothing." She started pleading and crying bitterly.
"I won't touch you," I told the girl and she relaxed a bit. "But she will." I saw Clarice walking angrily into the room.
I was mad, but I knew that even I could not be more ruthless than a mother who was losing her son.
"Jade, Luna said she saw you by the lake moments after the couples went there, what did you do to my son?" She screamed at the girl.
"Please, I only went there to write my books and poems because it's a really serene place, please I have done nothing, I don't understand what you're talking about." She burst into another round of fresh tears.
"Oh, you don't know?" Clarice asked her and before the girl could respond she slapped her so hard her mouth began to bleed.
"What did you do to my son, I won't ask you again." She screamed.
"Please, I have no idea what you're talking about, please I've done nothing wrong." The girl pleaded crying, Clarice gave her another slap and was about to give her a third one before I caught her hand mid-air.
"That's enough." I stopped her from hitting the girl again.
"She knows something, I'm sure she knows something, please let me hit her, she has to tell me how to help my son." Clarice cried.
"Calm yourself, ma'am, the situation is under control, if she won't talk, there are other ways to find out the truth," I told her.
"First, why did you ask the men to join the party and leave their posts?" I asked the girl on the floor.
She was already a mess of tears, bruises, and blood.
"I don't know anything, please I don't know anything." She answered weakly and then she passed out on the floor.
"Take her to the dungeon," I ordered.

[Jade]
I tried all the spells I could think of but still, it wasn't doing anything for my brother or his wife, their eyes were still green and gradually the color was spreading to other parts of their body as well.
They have vomited greenish substances and I had managed to get them to sit up in bed but that was all.
They did not respond when they were spoken to and they could barely eat anything other than soup.
"I think we should take them to the pack hospital before the other witches get here," I said squeezing the towel I had been using to sponge their bodies.
Their temperature was so high I had to use ice wrapped in a towel to sponge them and before I was even done, the ice had already melted and the towel was getting warm.
"I think you should but I'm going to find answers, I hear that Nana's niece was the last to see them, she must know something." My mother stood up and headed towards the door angrily.
Nana's niece.
I had underestimated the feelings I was having, I thought I was paranoid but clearly, I wasn't, if only I'd acted and detained Nana's niece when I first saw her then none of this would have happened.
"Help me carry them to the hospital, I need the doctor to check on Liya's child," I told some of the guards around and they helped me carry both of them.

"How is the baby?" I asked the doctor anxiously.
"The baby is fine, its heartbeat and rate are normal but something isn't right." He replied, fondling his coat.
"What is it, please tell me immediately," I begged him, I couldn't stand the suspense.
"The baby is dormant." He said slowly.
"Dormant, what does that mean?" My eyebrows creased in a frown.
"The baby has no motion at all, it is not moving, the fetus is alive but it doesn't seem to be developing, I think whatever magic was used on her is inhibiting the baby's growth." He explained.
"No, that can't be through, no." I shook my head rapidly and started crying.
"I'm sorry, Luna but there's nothing that can be done medically." He said.
"How long?" I asked sniffing. "How long do you think the fetus has to live like that?"
"I can't say since the dormancy is not caused by hormonal imbalance, I'm guessing the baby will stay alive as long as the mother will, and considering the spread of the green fever, I don't think they have long."
