[Jade] The past five days have been amazing. Mason and I went sightseeing and I felt so alive in the city. It was so exciting and we made a lot of memories. Today was the sixth day and I planned on going to the beach with Mason. I also planned on meeting Zara for dinner. I had contacted her and it was all set up. I was kind of hesitant to tell Mason but he had been so chill and nice and relaxed these few days I thought his issue was the pressure he was facing back at the pack. I almost wished we would not return but we had a lot of responsibilities and that was a very selfish thought. Mason was the true Alpha while I was Luna, we had big roles to perform in the pack and we couldn't just be replaced overnight. We called home from time to time and we were glad to know that they were doing just fine at home. Liya had even put baby Dine on the phone and it had been so cute to listen to her baby voice. Zara had gotten into NYU and she was currently studying creative arts or something like that. I wondered why she even bothered to go to college. All her life she had said she would not go to college because it would be a waste of time to her. She intended to become a tattoo artist just like her mother and she even had plans to move that up a notch a bit by adding a hair salon or a hair dyeing salon to be precise. I got dressed in my bikini and packed my.beach bag. When I got out Mason was already waiting for me, he was dressed in a vintage shirt and shorts, he had a pair of dark sunglasses on his head and he was wearing slippers. He also carried a large hat. "Do you bring some sunscreen?" He asked me and I tapped my back happily. It was something I couldn't ever forget except I wanted to come on sun burnt. I had really pale skin so I had to use a thicker sunscreen to just give me that double layer of sun protection. I also loved to tan too but if I suntanned too long I would leave there looking like a boiling hot tomato. We went downstairs and called Hugo, he was always very quick with the car and we didn't have to wait for long before he came to pick us up. The beach was not so far from our hotel so we soon got there. The beach was large and there were a lot of people just like the Miami beaches during summer break. It took us a while but Mason and I soon found the perfect spot. Hugo helped us get our things from the car and he helped set up our benches and their umbrellas. The sun was not as it usually was in the summer but that did not mean I couldn't get sunburned. Mace and I thanked him and lay on the bench watching the people splashing around in the water. Somehow I wished we had come when the beach was a little quiet, there were a lot of people shouting and screaming, It did not make for a good experience. In Florida Mason had his own secluded part of the beach that we usually go to, it was always quiet and even in the afternoon you could hear the water waves lapping against the shore. "Is this everything you hoped it would be?" Mason asked me suddenly. "Yeah, it's better than I'd imagined, spending time with you has been the highlight of my vacation here." I responded truthfully. "Me too." He smiled at me. "I want to go in the water, can you apply some sunscreen on my back?" He asked. I nodded and got to work, he had a lot of muscles and they felt a bit tense under my arms as I rubbed him down with sunscreen and I realized that Mason was really nervous to be around so many people. "It's fine, just relax." I bent down and whispered in his ear. He let out a sigh and his muscles seemed to relax, I continued until I got the sunscreen on his back and he flipped over. I smiled as I rubbed his shoulders and chest, I could not deny the intensity of his stare and I began to feel hot, a heat that had nothing to do with the warm sun. When I was done he took the sunscreen in my arms and he looked at me expectantly. "I did not say I wanted to go swimming." I teased him and he smiled at me. "It doesn't matter, I just needed an excuse to touch you, besides it's been hours since your last touch up." He said and I had no choice but to lie on my back. "I can get the rest, just do my back." I told him. "Hmmm." He hummed as he pressed some sunscreen onto his hands, rubbed them together and began to rub them down my back. His hands dug into my muscles making quite work of massaging them as he swept his hands down my back. "Ooh, that's so nice." I moaned and relaxed my body. I shivered as he loosened the string of my bikini top and the strings fell to my side. He began to rub my sides and his hands rubbed my sides boobs intentionally. "We're in public." I whispered to him but he just ignored me. "You're not showing anything." He made a circle on my sides and I looked up at him when his hands slipped under to grab my melons. I stood up before he could go any further and I tied my strings back immediately. "Didn't you say you wanted to go swimming, well let's go." I got up and started heading for the water, his touches had woken me up and I was already all hot and bothered. The water was cool when we dived in and Mason found the prettiest seashell and gave it to me. We also made out a lot inside the water and we had a lot of fun at the beach. On the ride home I decided to tell Mason about Zara and I kept my fingers crossed for his reaction. He was currently checking something on his phone and after taking a few deep breaths, I decided to just come out with it. "Zara called." I said and his head snapped up from his phone to my direction immediately. His face bore no expression and his eyes were the same steely shade of blue. "And?" He asked me, watching me intently. "I agreed to have dinner with her tonight." I said and he raised his brows. "You alone?" He asked. "I… umm… I mean you can come with, if… if you want." I stuttered. "Nah, you should spend some time alone with her, after all you haven't seen her in a while." He said and I frowned. His face still bore no expression and I could not tell if he was genuinely okay with it or not. "I was thinking we could hang out tomorrow, she's giving me a tour of NYU and it's going to be fun." I added, trying to test him, I wanted to see something that would give him away. "Yeah, I think that arrangement is fine, it's something you have wanted to do for a long time." He replied, his voice wasn't even cold so this wasn't a passive aggressive type situation. He seemed… genuinely okay with it and I just took that with a pinch of salt, I was still very skeptical about that but I was happy though and since I didn't want to jinx it and risk him getting mad or changing his mind, I just decided to let it go. "That's so nice, thank you very much for being so cool with it." I smiled and gave him a hug, he responded to my hug as he usually did, wrapping his arms tightly around me and I smiled. *** I was currently waiting for Zara in a restaurant somewhere in the city, Hugo had driven me and he'd taken the car away promising to come back once I called him. I was shocked when Zara entered the restaurant because she looked different, for one my best friend didn't have any piercings which was very rare, her hair was a boring pastel belong color, nothing fiery or vibrant like she used to do before and she was dressed in a simple but classy gown and she had pumps on. The only semblance to her former self was her tattoos, it even looked like she had gotten some new ones. She waved at me when she spotted me in the crowd and she made her way over to her table. I stood up immediately and gave her a brief hug before she sat down. We stared at each other for a while just taking each other in before I broke the now awkward silence. "You look different." I said. "b***h, I am different." She replied and I laughed loudly. I thought she would have changed her manner of speaking but I was glad that she was still the same ole Zara. "Dude, I know that, I mean where are your piercings?" I asked. "I changed my style a bit because of school." She sighed. "If you want to be taken seriously by those homophobic ancient pricks we call our lecturers, you have to dress a certain way, they can't handle all this." "Aww, they do not know what they're missing out on, I remember you with the vibrant green hair, that was your absolute best." I told her. "Yeah, my first day of school I had on my piercings, vibrant green hair, some cut off pants with a bustier and some fishnet tights and top and my signature dark makeup. My professor steps into the class and this woman is like fifty years old or more, she stares at me like she's seen something horrific and then I'm her nasally bird high pitched voice she says 'I don't think you're ready to learn miss' and I ask her why not and she goes 'I don't allow all of that Halloween costume stuffs in my class, it's against my religion." "No way, no she didn't!" I exclaimed, amused. Just as she was about to reply, a loud sound echoed through the restaurant and I turned behind me and saw the strangest man I had ever seen picking up broken shards of glass with his bare hands. The man looked up towards my direction and we locked eyes, the strangest thing was I could have sworn I saw his eyes flash yellow.
