[Jade] I was very tired after our trip but I did not know where I got the strength to still make love with Mason last night. I slept like a log of wood when we were done and my limbs gave out, I was so tired I slept immediately my head touched the pillow. My relationship with Mason was going good right now and I didn't want anything to spoil it. I knew he had his reservations about Zara but I was very proud of him for trying to face them instead of hiding away from them. I was still afraid of him finding out about the pills and that was why I hid them under my clothes in my suitcase and I hadn't even brought them out, I took the pills in the airplane yesterday when he was sleeping and while he was dropping the bags in the room, I carefully slipped the packet into my big suitcase so that he would not find it mistakenly. I had written our itinerary for the week. I wanted us to make the most of our time here and visit lots of monumental places like the Statue of Liberty, the public library, some old castles and some popular fun places Zara had recommended to me. I also planned on meeting her but I first wanted to go sightseeing and enjoy a bit with my mate and then maybe towards the end of our trip we could go and visit Zara. This was also because I knew the two of them didn't get along, I didn't want to risk her pissing him off enough to the extent where he wants to return to the pack. "Wake up sleepy head." Mason poked me softly in my ribs. I opened my eyes and groaned at the brightness of the room. I was about to chant a spell to block the sun rays before I remembered that we weren't in the pack and I got up abruptly. "Hey, look who is finally up, I've been watching you sleep for hours, I'm bored and hungry." Mason pouted. "What time is it?" I asked him yawning. "It's past noon." He said and I sucked my face under the blankets embarrassed. "What's wrong?" He asked, trying to remove the blankets from me. "Well I wouldn't have woken up so late if you hadn't worn me out last night." "Ah… is that how you remember it then." He teased me. "Because I remember someone asking for more and begging me not to stop." My face got flushed as I remembered the events of the night, I hit on on the shoulder playfully and then got out of bed. I did not even bother to look in the mirror because I knew that I probably looked a mess, got into the shower and scrubbed my body clean, I also washed my hair and when I was content I came out of the bathroom. "What are you doing here, you creep?" I snatched a towel and wrapped it around myself immediately I got out of the shower, Mason was standing at the door smirking. "I wanted to watch you shower, I would have joined you but you know where that would have headed." His eyes looked hooded and filled with lust as he stared at me. "Get out, let me get dressed." I pushed him out of the bathroom laughing and then I wrapped another towel around my hair to dry it. It took me less time to get ready than it usually did because I just used the hotel products, I did not want to pack too many bottles so I did not really take much of my skin care products. I wore a pair of shorts and a crop top, released my semi dry hair from the towel to air dry and went outside. When I got outside, Mason was working on his laptop so I walked behind him and gave him a kiss on his neck. "Would you like me to order brunch?" I asked him, seeing as it was too late for breakfast and too soon for lunch. "Nah, let's go out and eat, the hotel has a nice restaurant downstairs and if you don't want to eat there, we could always find a nice cafe elsewhere." He said. "Oh, I see that's very nice." I smiled at him and went to my suitcases. "I just need to change." "Yeah me too." He said and followed me. *** We ended up going outside of the hotel because I wanted to go for a stroll and the weather was really nice. Our driver recommended a really nice cafe that had terrace seats and I loved the idea of eating outdoors so we agreed. "We're here." The driver announced. "The cafe has been here for many years and it has been run by the same families for generations, they serve snacks, the best coffee in town and their sweets, oh so amazing, if I wasn't trying to eat healthy, I would be here everyday." He said before we came down from the car. "Thank you, Hugo." We waved as he drove the car away, when we were done with our meal, we would call him to come and pick us but for now we wanted to enjoy some outdoor brunch. We walked inside the cafe and Hugo was right, it was a very English style cafe and there were so many memories in the walls, paintings and furniture, it was not hard to tell that the cafe had been in the family for many generations. A waiter showed us to a table outside and gave us a menu. There was a bell we could press when we were ready to order and a waitress would come to us. "What do you think?" I asked Mason as I looked through the menu. "I think I do not see a lot of meat options." He said and I laughed heartily. "You could go for the ham and cheese sandwich or the pastrami sandwich." I told him. "Fine, I'll go with two of whichever has the most meat." He said. "I think the pastrami, it has beef, I'll go with that too, it's a staple New York sandwich." I said. "And I could really use some coffee." I added. "I'll have some too." He said. The meal was great and the scenery made it even better. I felt relaxed and as I looked around, I could really see myself living in this city. Mason on the other hand did not look so comfortable, he was very squeamish and he did not like the idea of being outside for too long. . . [Mason] Just like I thought, the city was not quiet at all, it was a fast-paced lifestyle and I did not like that. Everyone seemed to be in such a hurry and I wondered where they had to be because they were rushing so much. There were a lot of people on the street and some of them brushed us as they passed. I wanted to scream more than once for someone to mind my personal space but then I realized that there was no such thing as that in the flooded streets of New York. The cafe was one part of the outing that I truly enjoyed, the weather was really nice and the food and drinks were great too. When we were done we called Hugo and he came.to pick us up. Our waitress had been so nice, professional and quick so we gave her a huge tip before we left. "Should we go back to the hotel or do you want to go somewhere else?" I asked Jade. "Oh yes, can we go to the public library?" She asked. I should've known, she was such a beautiful nerd, I nodded and began to look around for bars that would be opened this early, somehow I felt I had to take some alcohol to calm my wolf. He did not like being in the big city anymore than I did but worse he did not like the way the men were staring after Jade. Once or twice I caught some of them staring and they looked away when I glared at them. "To the library sir?" Hugo asked and I nodded looking at him in the front mirror. The man smiled at me and then focused his attention back on the road. Jade was so excited when we went to the library, she took so many pictures it was very hilarious, she made a lot of funny faces and I laughed till my stomach hurt. The library was quiet when we entered and so we kept quiet ourselves. Jade wanted to find a book to read so we began to check the shelves for a book. I really was not interested in reading, I just wanted to spend time with her, doing whatever she wanted no matter how much I detested it. "Ah I found one." She looked up at me triumphantly Andi stroked her hair lovingly. I hadn't found a book since I wasn't really searching but she insisted on finding a book that I would enjoy. "This is one of the biggest libraries in the world with over fifty five million books, we should find something that'll interest you here." She said, "How do you know that?" I asked surprised, she had just given an estimated number like she had just finished counting the books in the library. "I read." She said and I smiled. "Not just that, you're smart too." I pulled her close to me and would have kissed her but she pulled away from me. "We're in a library." She whispered. "No one's looking." I whispered back and she chuckled. She pressed her lips to mine briefly and then we continued to search for a book that would pique my interest. "Why don't we try something historical or mythological?" I asked. "Oh, I thought that would be too boring for you." "No, it's certainly better than all these romantic books you're trying to put me on." "Fine." We went to the category of shelves where mythological books were kept and we began to go through them. First we came across books on Greek mythology, Indian myths, the ancient world and other historical books but I couldn't have been more surprised to find an old book with a blue cover and a string wrapped around it. I picked it up immediately, mesmerized by its uniqueness, the book seemed a bit old and it was placed in like the rejected corner of the shelf so I wondered how I noticed it in the first place. I turned on the first page of the book since it did not have any name on the front cover and I was shocked to read the title. It was written in old werewolf language but it was clear as day. 'The moon goddess, the first Lycanthrope."
