41. A Steamy Shower

Thankfully, we completed the ritual on time and Mason's werewolf blood made it ten times more potent, I took it outside since I didn't want to risk them getting hurt and I shot it into the black sun, the sun disappeared immediately, and everywhere turned dark again, even rain began to fall from the sky, I didn't think they had rain and it was really nice because it helped to put out the remaining flames and it would wash away the stench of death from the camp.

"You did it, we cannot thank you enough for your help," Zilla said.

"No need to thank me, aunty, you would do more than this for us if the tables were turned," I said and hugged her tightly.

Unfortunately, they were not into revenge so they just wanted me to destroy the black sun and not to send it back to the cult.

Mason, Sirius, and I helped to clear away all the dead bodies and to clear all the debris and damages. Mason and Sirius did the heavy lifting while I just relaxed on a chair and used magic to put the things that had been broken or destroyed back together.

"I wish we could stay." Mason started when we finished helping them clean up." But we have to go."

"I understand, thank you for your help, we will visit you soon." Zefa smiled at us.

"I'm sure all is well with the pack but please don't hesitate to call us if you need our help," I said checking the stone in my hand.

"We will, the Blackners will never forget this day and how you helped us," Zora said speaking for the first time.

"You just take care of your family and the coven." Sirius tapped him on the shoulder and we all turned to leave.

Leaving was easier than coming here since I knew where the pack was, I just opened a portal and we all walked through it.

When we got back to the pack, everything was okay and I was glad that there was no trouble, I went straight to see baby Dine and I smiled when I saw her chewing on the stone I had put around her neck.

"That's not for chewing." I smiled at her and she smiled back.

She was a regular baby but we all knew that it was just a matter of time before she would change and nobody knew exactly what powers she would have.

"She's fine, we're all fine," Jay said from behind me.

"I know." I smiled and walked into his embrace. "It's kind of hard not to worry but I'm working on it."

"That's good." He chuckled and hugged me back. "Tell me, how are the Blackners?"

"They were in bad shape." I sighed sadly. "So many of them lost their lives and a lot of properties were destroyed."

"I'm sorry to hear that, why were they attacked?"

"I think it's because they're our allies now, they were attacked by the cult," I explained.

"Figures." He sighed and nodded his head in understanding.

"Where is Liya?" I asked.

"She's with Sirius and Mason." He responded and raised his brow at me.

"We're cool now," I said and he nodded.

"I know that this wasn't what you wanted Jade, but I hope you can make the life you want for yourself here." He smiled and patted my back.

"I have to go and find my Alpha." I smiled and left the room immediately.

I ran into Liya outside but I didn't stop to talk to her, what Jay told me had given me an epiphany and I realized that I was wasting time with Mason, time that could be spent in love.

"Where's the Alpha?" I asked some guards when I got to his office door.

"He went to your room." They replied lowering their gazes, I'm sure they all were aware of the little fight that had been going on between us.

"Thank you." I smiled and ran up the stairs.

If he had gone up, it meant he was also willing to stop fighting and I couldn't have been happier.

"Mason!" I called out when I entered the room but received no response.

I walked into our private room and when I was about to go back outside I heard the shower running and I realized that he was taking a shower.

I smiled and touched my hands to my throat as I thought of his naked body under the water.

Jade left my side immediately we arrived at home and I frowned but I didn't comment on it. I hoped her anger would have disappeared since she actually talked to me at the Blackners camp but it seemed I was mistaken.

Liya and some of the other wolves came to welcome us and I spent a few minutes talking to them.

I suddenly felt very tired and spent as I made my way into the house. I asked after Jade and I found out that she'd gone to see her brother. I took it as a good opportunity for me to take a shower and since she wasn't in the room I headed upstairs.

Halfway through my shower, the shower door opened and I turned back to see a smirking Jade staring at me with dark eyes.

"I've been searching for you." She said as she came in and shut the door behind her.

"You want to take a shower? I can come back later." I asked her, resting my hand lazily on the shower knob.

"Yes, you can stay if you like." She looked down for a second before pulling her shirt off her body.
