30. The Exorcism.

[Jade] I woke up feeling very sore but also very happy. Mason was already out of bed before I woke up and I got out of bed a little disappointed. I would have liked to wake him up with a real treat this morning for last night's pleasure. I did not blame him though being Alpha was a very time-consuming job and he was finding a way to keep the pack safe from the cult which was threatening to tear it apart. As I got out of bed, my eyes fell on a vase of roses on my vanity table, the floor around the vanity was a mess of bottles and spilled liquids. I smiled when I plucked the card from the flowers and it read. —Good morning beautiful, this is for ruining your vanity last night. There was a black card inside the flowers and it read don't hold back. It was a nice gesture because a lot of my product bottles were empty, broken, or destroyed on the floor. I was so horny last night I didn't even notice when he pushed all of the items to the floor. Or maybe I did, but I just didn't care, it had been a while since we last had s*x and I really needed him last night. A knock on the door startled me and I dropped the card on the floor. "Who is it?" I asked. "Luna, we're here to clean the room." Some maids answered from the other side of the door. How thoughtful. "Yes, please come in," I said, picking up the card and stepping away from the mess underneath my vanity. *** "The exorcism is today," Zilla informed me and I nodded my head. "Have you gone to see the girl today?" I asked her. "Yes." She replied. "She looks okay, the spirit is still mean but whoever that is, the person is already tired of being trapped in the body." "Do you think she'll play nice and leave the body without a fight?" I asked hopefully. "I can only hope so." She said and I sighed. Witches could be brutally honest at times, she wasn't even doing anything to give me hope. "I'm very grateful that you're here." I started. I felt like I hadn't appreciated them for everything that they had done for us. "Don't mention, you all are like our family now and we know that if we fall into any trouble, you'll be there to help us." She smiled at me. "I know but I don't think I ever properly thanked you." I sniffed. I was reliving the traumatic experience that I had just gotten through, my brother might have died, his wife might have died and almost half of the pack of not for them, the baby had died but at least there was still hope. "I have to go now, this is not about to become a crying festival." She sniffed and dabbed the corner of her eyes. "Just be ready for the exorcism by nightfall and be ready for any outcome." Again, brutal honesty. "Thank you, Zilla." I thanked her again but she just shook her head and left me alone. After she left, I decided to go to Nana's quarters. Nana was a Delta so she lived on the ground floor, she might not have gotten residency in the main mansion if not for the fact that everyone loved her and she was a great cook. I wanted to inform her about her niece's condition and I wanted to ask her to forgive me because I felt guilty about how we treated them. "Luna." The guards beside her door bowed slightly when I got there. "How is she?" I asked them. "She has been quiet for some days now, she barely asks to eat anything and she barely talks." "I want to see her," I told them and they opened the door for me. When I got in the room was a bit dark because Nana closed the windows and dropped the drapes, I guess she wanted to enjoy her melancholia in peace. "Nana?" I called her softly as I entered her private room. She lay on top of the bed looking at the ceiling, unmoving. For a second I feared that she might have been infected by the green fever but I checked her eyes and heaved a sigh of relief when they looked fine. "Forgive me for not getting up, Luna, but I'm depressed and it's all your fault." She said accusingly, she closed her eyes for a second and I saw the shadow of a tear slide down her face. "I came here to talk Nana, you have to get up, this state isn't good enough for your health," I told her and went to separate the drapes and open the windows. "Stop." She spoke weakly but I ignored her. When light penetrated the room I saw exactly how pale she looked. "I'm her only living relative, I know her so well, she would never do anything to harm anyone," Nana said. "I know," I told her and surprisingly she sat up in bed. *Please, I beg you, release my girl. If you don't want her here, she'll move away, I'll move with her, we'll go, just please." "Calm down, Nana, I don't want any of you to leave." "Why do you then still have her locked up?" She asked. "There is no easy way to say this but Sasha has been possessed by a witch, an evil witch, and that witch was the one who did all of that framing Sasha for it." She looked at me weirdly for a while before she began to laugh softly. It was obvious she didn't believe anything I just said. "I don't understand what you're saying." She said after laughing. "It's true, she's not safe to be around because of the spirit in her, she caused the green fever illness that turned everyone green and with a terrible fever." *** Finally, it was the night hour and it was time to perform the exorcism on Nana's niece. I left a sleeping Mason on the bed and tiptoed out of our room. As I walked down the halls, the night duty guards bowed their heads slightly and I was proud of them for the sacrifices they were making to keep us all safe. My heart was in my mouth as I walked down to the dungeon, I swallowed my fear as I pushed open the stone doors of the dungeon. The first thing I heard was a peal of really frightening laughter and then I heard conversations going on in the Cypretian language. Zilla and Zefa were already there and they were trying to convince the spirit to play nice because they would have to take the bracelet off for the exorcism. "Does she know?" I asked them in English. "Yes, the number of candles certainly gave us away," Zefa answered dryly. "Do you think she will cooperate?" I asked. "I think her own body is about rotting right now and if she doesn't get to her body soon, it will not be pretty," Zilla spoke Crypetian, staring directly at the spirit in the girl's body. "It doesn't matter, you know that dark magic has other ways to fix that right?" She sneered at Zilla but even she was not certain entirely. "We're getting you out of this body, don't you think you should give us some information before you go?" I asked her. "All I have to say is that we will hit you very hard, right at the center and this time, you won't even see it coming." "Let's just get started." The first thing we did was to draw a ritual marking on the floor outside her cell, it was a circle with a star inside it. It was a pentagram and Zilla drew it with white chalk. The next thing we did was to hold hands and chant a spell to lock in the marking and to prevent other spirits from interfering with the exorcism. Next Zilla went on to remove the bracelet from the girl and open the cell door, the girl screamed and the spirit tried to use her powers but we successfully got her into the circle and it was just as if she was frozen together with her powers. She couldn't go out of the circle and we used our powers to make her kneel and then chained both of her hands to the ground. We then lit a dozen or more candles around her and began the proper exorcism. The dungeon had no windows but immediately we started chanting the spells, a strong wind began to blow. "Chant harder, the flames must not go out," Zilla said and we kept chanting harder and louder. The girl in the middle was struggling with her bonds and was trying to escape the chains, she kept screaming and she was sweating profusely. We were at it for close to two hours before the girl's face began to darken and then blacken, indicating that the spirit was ready to come out of her body through her mouth. "Open the portal now!" Zilla yelled and I opened a large portal above the girl's head. The girl still continued to struggle and her hands were bleeding badly, she was also getting really weak and she was about to give up. "Don't break your concentration, there's nothing you can do for her besides that." Zilla's rang in my head and I concentrated on chanting my spells. A loud scream later, all the candles blew off and the spirit left the body and flew straight into the portal, I closed the gateway immediately and we all fell to the floor drained. My nose was bleeding from one nostril, Zilla was bleeding from both nostrils and Zefa wasn't even conscious.
