31. Liya's Condition.

[Jade] "Please try to visit soon." I hugged Zefa and Zilla as they prepared to return back to their world. I had enjoyed their company in the short time they had stayed with us but it was time for them to return home. "Yes, don't be strangers," Mason said standing beside me. "I'll see you off," Sirius said. Even though they would probably teleport a few meters into the woods, he still wanted to walk with them for a while. Even Liya came out of her room and though she didn't say much, she hugged them goodbye and wished them journey mercies. The morning after the exorcism, I managed to get up from the floor and wipe the dried blood off my nose then I called for help. Zilla and Zefa were so drained they passed out into a deep slumber and they were not waking up. I hurriedly checked the girl to see if she was alive or dead and I felt relieved to find her in the same state as Zilla and Zefa. I couldn't walk even though I was conscious so Mason had to carry me to our room. I nursed myself back to health, strength, and vitality in two days and they also woke up. It was scary sitting beside their beds daily praying for them to wake up. The girl was still in a deep slumber-like state but Nana was released from room arrest and she sat by the girl's bed daily. A week later, the girl opened her eyes and I was glad that she was free of the possession. I had gone through a lot these past few months with Zilla and Zefa and I just knew that I hadn't broken down mentally because I had their support, now that they were leaving, not so much. After they left Mason, Liya, and I walked back into the mansion. We were climbing the stairs when suddenly Liya froze and looked at us with surprise on her face. "I felt something, something just moved inside of me right now." She screamed and we raced to the hospital in a hurry. *** "Doctor, what is it?" The doctor walked in with a look of astonishment on his face. "What is it?" I asked again impatiently. Liya was currently sedated because she began screaming about her child and we couldn't get her to calm down. "I don't know how, but it seems like the child survived." He said. "Survived?" I asked in shock. "Like alive, like there's a child growing inside her," I asked excitedly. This was great news. "Yes, the ultrasound recorded the child's heartbeat and features, it is almost fully formed." He said and I turned to Liya on the bed. Her stomach was still considerably flat, it did not look like she was nearing the end of her pregnancy. Now I knew why the doctor looked worried. "Her stomach should have protruded by now," I said in a daze and he nodded. "What do you think will happen?" I asked fearfully. "I believe this has more to do with magic which is mainly your forte than it has to do with medicine and science." He said and closed the pad in his hand. D*mn and they just left. If they were here they would have deduced the situation and they would know what to do. "It's fine, I'll figure it out," I told him and he bowed before leaving. I moved to the side of the bed and I rested my hand on her stomach. At first, nothing happened, but then I felt a movement beneath my hand. I jerked my hand back immediately and I took a deep breath. I tried again after a while when I had calmed down and this time when I felt the movement, I tapped against it. I chuckled when I felt the baby tap against my hand back. Oh, she was pregnant alright and this, this was a miracle baby. I left the room and I met Mason in the waiting hall. "How is she?" He asked. "I met the doctor and he told me everything but he wasn't making any sense." "I believe Liya is carrying a magical child, the child must have hidden itself with some kind of magic so it wasn't seen in the womb at first but it is there," I explained to him excitedly. "What happened?" Jay rushed to me and asked breathlessly. "Liya is pregnant," I told him and a smile heightened up his face. "Yes, I told her we would get another child." He smiled. "No, you don't get it," I said and his brows creased. "She's pregnant with the same child that she's been expecting." "How is that even possible?" He asked. "Magic." I answered and he nodded." The child must have concealed itself during her last exams so it wasn't seen." "It could, but that doesn't explain the blood, she bled for quite some time and it doesn't explain the flatness of her belly." I would argue that magic was probably the explanation too. "I don't have all the answers but I think for now we should rejoice that the baby wasn't lost," I said and pulled my brother closer for a hug. "You're still going to be a dad and am still going to be an aunt." "I'm also still going to be an uncle." Mason laughed and joined in on the hugging. We did not know how her delivery would look or how soon she would deliver but I didn't want to worry about that now. A scream from Liya's room separated us and we rushed to her immediately. When we got there, Liya was sitting up in bed and holding her stomach that looked rounder compared to the last time I saw her. "Your stomach?" I asked her in shock and she just stared at the ball that was causing her shirt to ride up. "You're pregnant," Jay said and he was by her side in an instant. "I think we should get the doctor," Mason said but I stopped him. "The doctor can't do anything, it's the child, it's the child that's doing all of this." As I stared at Liya's stomach, only one thought came to my mind. I had to research because if Liya's pregnancy was this weird, I wondered how much weirder mine would be. Assuming I was ready to have a child that is. . . [Liya] I felt devastated after I learned that I wasn't pregnant anymore and nothing or no one could console me. My pregnancy was the happiest news I ever heard in my life and I was crushed when it was taken from me. All my life I wanted to have a family, after mine was brutally torn apart because of the wars and I grew up without any real family, I just hoped and wished that one day I would finally get to have a real family. I couldn't leave my room for days. My grief was weighing me down, my guilt as well because I felt guilty for not being able to protect my child and anger. I felt angry at the witches responsible for the loss of my child, I just wanted to end them. The day Zilla and Zefa were leaving, I forced myself to come out of the room to say goodbye to them, they had been great to us and I felt crappy about the fact that I didn't spend enough time to get to know them, they were my relatives after all. After they left on my way back to my room, I felt that familiar pain in my abdominal region and I freaked out. The last time I felt the pain, I lost a child, I didn't know what I would lose now. When I got to the hospital, I was given some sedatives because I kept screaming because I was freaking out a lot. *** I opened my eyes after the effects of the sedatives wore off and I wondered how long I was out for, I felt so weak and my throat felt dry and my voice was cracked from all the shouting I had done. I calmed myself and prepared to hear the worst from the doctor, first I wanted to get water to drink. I sat up in bed and that was when I noticed something different, my stomach was huge and I felt something tap from the inside. I screamed in horror and the next thing I knew, the room was filled with people looking at me in shock. Jade was the only one that said something that made sense. "What you're saying is that I'm pregnant, and my child is the one doing all of this w-with m-magic, my child is a witch?" "I'm not sure about anything but considering the fact that its father is a warlock, then that could be a possibility." I wasn't listening to anything else she was saying, I don't as pregnant, I had a child inside of me, I was going to give birth to a child. Nothing could beat the excitement and joy I felt right now. "Wait, I thought I lost my child, how is this possible?" "Magic." I couldn't argue with that, magic was really strange, all I cared about right now was that my child didn't die and in a few months or weeks or days. H*ll, I didn't know and I didn't care, when my child comes, it comes. "Have any idea when I'm due?" I asked her, just out of curiosity. "That, I don't have the faintest idea."
