I stood frozen for a few moments, before I realized that he must be referring to the woman who is with Mum.
“I think so. Follow me.”
I moved out of the way slightly and started making my way to the living room. It was just around the corner, but I didn't know if he knew that.
I stopped at the entrance of the living room and so did Liam.
The two woman turned to us and my Mum abruptly stood up. The cheery attitude she had adapted while talking to the woman had disappeared.
The woman stood up and completely ignored her son and came rushing towards me. I had barely taken a step away, when she was examining me and lifting and lowering my arms the way she wanted to.
“Your daughter is so pretty. Mary, why didn't you tell me that she was such a beauty? I could use her.”
