I walked over to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator door, taking note of what we had. I knew Eric well enough now to know he had a healthy appetite. I closed the refrigerator door and opened the freezer door. Reaching in, I pulled out the chicken burger patties and closed the door of the freezer. I set out three chicken patties onto an oven tray and turned the oven on to preheat. A few minutes later, I slid the tray into the oven and set a timer. I walked back over and sat down while I waited for the chicken patties to cook.
Eric looked over at me, and with a grin upon his face, he asked, “Sooo… what are we having for lunch?”
“Wait and see,” I replied, smiling at him.
“Well, whatever it is, I am sure it will be great,” he replied.
