Maverick woke up and reached for his mate. He blinked his eyes as he came up empty. She wasn't there. He looked around the cabin. He blinked a few times, a little confused as to where he was. He was in the cabin William gave him. But he could have sworn he was in a different cabin a few minutes ago, and his mate was there. And he touched her, as he breathed her scent into his lungs. She had felt so good against him. Maverick touched his chest.
