William drove them to where they said Noble was. Maverick stared out of the window, trying to pick up anything that might look familiar to him. But nothing was familiar. His memories were all blank. It felt like there was nothing where there should be something. All he remembered was being with his mate, and that was it.
His mate, Maverick, clenched his hands into fists at the thought of his mate. He should have been excited that he might find her soon. She could be with Noble right now.
But he somehow knew that she wasn’t there. He didn’t know how he knew that, but he knew. It was such a strange feeling to have.
He only wished he knew where she was at that very moment.
