Maverick looked all around him. He could sense that there was something out there, ready to pounce, but he didn’t know what. He looked behind him, and he could see that Kalan’s brother was still standing right where they left him, and he was staring directly at him. His eyes glowed green, unsettling him.
“What is up with him?” Maverick asked.
“What?” William asked, turning to him. Maverick pointed his head at Cien, William followed his stare.“He’s a strange one.”
“You feel it too, right? I don’t know what it is about him but…” Maverick shook his head because he couldn’t explain it. He looked over his shoulder at Cien again, he shook his head, following the others. He came to a stop where the others were. They stood there, anticipation swirling all around them. They all looked at Kalan
