Carrie felt restless. After Mystic left she found herself unable to sleep. She lay in bed staring at the picture that Sky sent her. She stared at it taking in every feature of the alpha’s face. There was something mesmerizing and enthralling about him that she hadn’t noticed the day she met him. Back then he had looked so overwhelming and intimidating. She couldn’t handle being in front of him.
But in the picture he looked different somehow, like he wasn’t as scary as she imagined him to be. Carrie didn’t know why she was noticing these things now. It wasn’t like they made any difference. She still didn’t think of him as her mate.
