Carrie paced the length of Mystic’s cabin. She budged into her cabin, having nowhere else to go. Mystic stared at her, waiting for her to say something. But Carrie kept thinking of the way Maverick had looked at her. The doubt in his eyes broke her heart. She felt like he didn’t trust her, trust the love she had for him. And she loved him so much. Carrie was desperate for their life together…for their family. She took a deep breath as she came to a stop in front of the fireplace.
