Marks Point of View
I sat watching I have never felt so f*****g helpless in my life, as the medical team unhooked Jakes monitors, placed drips on mobile stands, and prepared to take him down to theatre. Lilly was wringing her hands and trying to smile at Jake, feigning confidence, but she was not fooling him or me. Just before they wheeled him out of this room, Lilly kissed him on the cheek, “I love you more than chocolate Ice cream, see you when you wake up” she smiled though she could not stop the tear that fell from her cheek.
“I love you more than chocolate Ice cream with sprinkles on Mam” Jakes small voice was muffled by the oxygen mask he still wore.
