Fuck what I saw, I did not expect, and I have to try really hard not to show any shock, I glanced at Lilly, I could see the same battle in her expression. My eyes were drawn to my boy, who I had known such a short space of time but felt like we had been together all of his years on this earth. The sounds of monitors beeping were all to familiar, and the steady rhythm of those beeps gave me comfort, that was the audible sound of how strong he was, his heartbeat, and I took every last ounce of hope I could from those noises.
