Faith had foolishly thought that the four days leading up to Aleks Zolotov's birthday party would be less stressful than being attacked in the middle of the night as she got into her car.
Then, the New Order's Commander asked for a meeting.
It was not the first time Faith would see the man in-person. They've had meetings several times in the past, during her annual evaluations as a trainee and an agent under the Special Missions Group.
This would be the first time Faith met a man without knowing what he'd called her in for.
Armando had notified Faith of today's meeting, making sure to mention how he would not be there as per the Commander's orders. That only made Faith more nervous, because the Special Agent in Charge's presence always provided a buffer between her and the Commander.
