Meeting with King Lesvos

I was awakened by the sound of chirping birds. I rose up from my bed and I was immediately enchanted by the view I was looking at right now. Green fields welcomes you the moment you past your gaze at the window curtains. Then I realized how fascinating I was at right now. Knock. Knock. “You may open the door please.” I yelled back as I turned around “Your highness, here’s your dress for today. It’s designed according to the royal apparel of Cavour. May it suffice your choice of style so you may wore it with grace as you’ll going to enter at the king’s inner courtyard.” Says the head of eunuchs “I kinda love it actually. It’s so queen like. It’d be an honor to wore a dress as elegant as that.” I commented I could hear the sound of my heartbeat thundering underneath my chest as I was walking at the aisle of the king’s quarter. And there he is sitting on the splendid throne he has built for himself. I then bowed down and prostrated myself in front of him. “Good day my king, this is your servant from the province of Troav. It really is an honor to be called by you here at your fortress.” I humbly said “You may take your stand.” – Lesvos I then looked up and finally met his gaze. So this is him. Who caused us suffering all along. Thy very own subduer. He was in fact good looking though aging has overtaken him, he still has his cool. And fearful aura significantly illuminates in him, even still. Perhaps he’s at his late forties already. Well, I’m not that good at guessing ages though. “Okay, let’s drop the drama and begin with our business. You may be surprised to know that you’ve been called out.” -Lesvos “Yea. I really am perplexed thy king.” – I honestly said in response “Don’t be too flattered by that.” He harshly affirmed and it irritates me really. It has been rumored that king Lesvos is planning to extend his dominion as far as the east. I wonder what is he up to this time. “So what is this all about? What do you want from us this time?" – I boldly asked The people of Troav were in a dilemma because of the tenfold payment of taxes that the envoy has been imposing few months ago. So tell me how am I going to keep calm? “It’s this true then that you’re quite fearless. And I can sense you’re quite hasty too. You think so?” – Lesvos “You see, I’m good at negotiations.” – I counteracted, shifting the subject “I’ve had it in mind already. So what’s your demand in this case?” – Lesvos “My people are crying out for mercy. The envoys you sent few months ago kept pestering us for a tenfold payment of taxes. I’m gonna ask you for that, to reduce our taxes. That’s all I ever wanted.” -I opened up. I don't know what has been on his mind but I'm too desperate this time. I just can't sit still and do nothing for the people of Troav. As much as I can no longer continue let Empress Hera carry all the burden. “Is that so? Okay so, I guess we’re all settled with that, how about this one, I want you to participate in the Selection of queen at Ekrran. I heard Gregory have it set up for his son to chose one. And you’re such a beauty to participate in it.” – Lesvos “I would have been flattered if you have not warned me.” – I said it with a sarcasm though it brought me a big surprise actually. And he just smirked. Maybe he just get the vibe. “And you should thank me by that. Shouldn’t you? With all that’s been said. I think we’re all settled right? That’s also the only thing that I'm gonna ask you.” He added in a matter of fact kind of tone. “I must assume there’s a treaty behind all of this, right”? I guessed. I can see how his eyes glows in amazement. “I admit, I was kind of surprised how clever you are, young lady. Very impressive!” he complimented and in a snap he became so serious and added “May it would all go well with you. The Selection is not that ordinary as you can see. Lots of “things” are involved.”-he says like it’s such a common knowledge kind of tone So, it’s not just an ordinary kind of Selection huh.? – I mumbled “So, when will I go there at Ekrran?” – I inquired “I like the attitude darling. As if this thing is no big deal to you.” – he said with a surprise kind of tone “Three weeks from now you’ll start your journey with Alumieda. So, you only have a little bit of time to pack your things up and to formally bid a goodbye to your home town.” – Lesvos
