At K-Port

Dawn is breaking already. Watching over the horizon, I don’t feel at ease at all. I was very keen even in all the subtleties I got to notice throughout the journey with Alumieda. Yes my very own companion in this mission. I can sense that she’s quite an impressive female warrior and attendant in the Kings inner courtyard. I know she’s a well trained attendant and it’s the only thing I know about her, other than her boyish style of haircut. I don’t bother asking about her personal information. Perhaps that’s the reason why I don’t allow myself to be complacent. It’s the one thing I had learned since I was young. Never be complacent when a stranger is around, or even to the ones who are not suppose to be a stranger anymore to you.

The city of Cavour is still in sight to me. Yet, my distance from it is already miles away. Looking in front of me I began to see a nightmare already. I can hear enough the smashing waves at North port. I’ve never been able to ride a ship my whole life. And never in my wildest dream did it ever cross my mind to ride one. But here I am, looking it up close makes me shiver.

Stay close to me, Your Highness. You can hold my hand if you want to. – Alumieda

And it snapped me off. Yea. It took me like three minutes to get lost in space. Perhaps, Alumieda noticed how uneasy I’ve become. My fear doubled as we’re getting so close to the harbor.

Payment for two sir. All the way to Ekkran. – says Alumieda

The staff in charge looked at us but got nothing to say and just lead us the way to the upper deck of the ship.

As we finished putting all our stuffs on the compartment, I immediately hop on the bunk and dozed myself off coz I felt dizzy all the way.

I can sense a captivating aroma of hot soup. I then slowly opened my eyes to see where it did come from.

“Your highness, I think you should eat to regain some energy as our journey goes on.” – offers Alumieda

“Yea. I think that’s exactly what I’m needing right now.” – I responded as I stand up and reach out the soup

“Let’s drop the honorific y’know. Call me Serra instead.” – I said

“Okay and you can just call me Eda if you want to.” – she responded

After we’re done eating, I rose up and went out from our compartment. Watching over the horizon, I was enchanted with the view I was seeing at right now. The sun had set down already and it’s quite dramatic watching the sunset, really. Turning my gaze underneath, it’s quite magical seeing the stillness of the sea. Suddenly, a cold breeze swiftly dragged my shawl away. Leaving me barefaced savoring the sweet embrace of the cold breeze. Then it hits me.

“Where did my shawl go?” – I said realizing where has it been

“Is this yours.?” – said the guy in a cap

“Yea. Thank goodness, sir.” – I said with a bow

When I was about to look up and met his gaze, someone called out to him.

He immediately turned his back to me and took his leave. I can only see a glimpse of his side view. Then his silhouette fades away.

“Serra, are you okay..?” – asked Alumieda

I was kind of startled as she come in front of me out of nowhere.

“Yea, I’m fine. I just saw someone.” – I said in a low voice

“Really?! With that barefaced of yours?"– she said

“Unfortunately, yes. My shawl got dragged off as the wind blew.” – I admit

“An acquaintace of yours? ”- she inquired in horror

“Nah. I don’t think so. Though I haven’t seen his face coz he’s got a cap. – I responded

“Ow.”- she just said in reply and we both entered back to our cabin

“Let me tell you this once, I guess you should know about this for your own good, okay?” -she said out of a sudden

“Spill it out.” – I said out of curiosity

“Didn’t you even wonder, why you’re specially called out for by King Lesvos?” – she asked

“Of course I knew. To participate in the Selection at Ekrran. That’s all.” – I stated

“Okay. Partly true. You had the beauty to participate in it. But you are more than that, Serra.” – she said

“What do you mean by that? – I inquired

“It’s not just all about beauty and queen like personality it would take to win the crown. It needs skill, intelligence and bravery. Yes, and somebody reported it to King Lesvos that you really had all what it takes. You had the potential as what they say.” – Alumieda

"So? I mean what really is your point?" - I asked looking even more puzzled
