To see that look in Emmett’s eyes, that look of being defeated, like his world was shattering or like someone had taken his last breath away, how helpless he looked at the moment, made me realize that he wasn't lying about how he felt... that's when it happened the first c***k in the halls I have built.
Zac led me to his car, and tied my hands and feet with zip ties, but my mind was in a place far away from here, a place where I gave Emmett a chance, and maybe I wouldn’t have been here. Maybe things could have turned out differently.
