“Let’s just go home, Vaughn.”
Shaina refused to go to the hospital. She was in the passenger seat while he drove the car. His bodyguards were already taken by the ambulance that went ahead of them some ten minutes or so ago. Luckily, they would live to resume their job once they recuperate, based on their non-fatal wounds in the shoulder and leg. Vaughn noted to himself he would give them a bonus for saving his life.
“What?” He was more than perplexed upon hearing Shaina’s request. “You need the medical report, àiren.”
She sighed, leaning her head against the backrest, angling her face to gaze at him. “I know. But maybe we can do it later. It’s already dawn, and I don’t want Mama Hilda and the kids to worry about me more than they do now. Besides, I’m so tired.”
