Elena’s POV
What a jerk to take his rejection back. Why is he doing this to me? Didn’t he hurt me enough the first time around? Just hearing Adrian’s voice, knowing that he had come here for me, helped. I was glad that he was here. I needed him. I was not going to make him come, but just hearing him defend me against Tucker made my heart sing. I quickly stood up to see where he was. I was glad that he had come, it was a two-hour trip, yet he had willingly made it to come here for me. I gladly settled onto his lap and accepted the comfort that he was giving me.
I was so angry at Tucker. What was he even thinking? What possible reason could he have for assuming that I would just take him back? It is not going to happen. I knew it stemmed from him seeing that I was not marked.
