I heaved out a breath as blood dripped from my mouth. I didn’t realize how hungry I was until I came out here to try and clear my head. I looked down at the deer carcass that lay at my feet and licked the blood off my lips. Surviving off of animal blood wasn’t such a big deal, although the taste of human blood was always the best. I sighed as I let my eyes wander away from my meal to the trees around me. It wasn’t so wooded here. I could see a clearing up ahead and without even realizing it, I started to walk towards it. From the soft chirping that was coming from the surrounding trees, I knew that the sunrise wasn’t too far off, but it didn’t matter. The sun didn’t really do anything to my kind.
