When Rieka said that she was my daughter, I didn’t know what to make of it. I didn’t understand what she was saying. How was that even possible? Rieka groaned in pain as she slid down the door to the floor. She was bleeding from her ears and nose. She didn’t look too good. A fist tightened around my heart and squeezed painfully at seeing her like this. Something in me wanted to go to her but before I could, Ava jumped from the bed and made her way towards Rieka. The concern Ava showed in that moment as she hurried to her side and the way she looked at her… it was almost motherly or grandmotherly.
