“I c- care… because you are my mother.” She said as she sagged against the door. She had blood coming out of her ears and nose and she held an arm across her stomach just under her breasts. It was clear that she was in a lot of pain, but I was stuck frozen in place. Amber too. I turned back to look at Amber and she sat frozen on the bed. Her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared, unblinkingly at Rieka.
There was no going back now. Rieka was the one to come out and say it herself and now it was just up to Amber to believe it or not. Rieka’s painful moan gathered my attention, and I jumped up from the bed and hurriedly made my way over to her where she had slid to the floor. “You shouldn’t have gotten up, my dear. I have no idea what the extend of your injuries are.” I chastised
