Daisy’s POV I pull up outside of the café the next day, my mind already on what I need to get done before I open this morning. Climbing out of my car, my attention is snagged by a small group of people outside of the Rossi’s butcher shop. Slamming my door shut, I walk over to find them talking in hushed voices around the door that is shut with a notice pinned to it. ‘What’s going on?’ I ask Genesis as I stop beside her, trying to read the notice over the head of the small gift shop owner from the other end of the block. ‘They got shut down’ the hairdresser murmurs, her eyes wide as I snap my attention to her quickly. ‘What?’ I demand, ‘what for?’ Genesis looks close to tears, ‘that inspector’ she says quietly, ‘he supposedly found rat droppings or something in the back.
