Daisy’s POV The next few days pass without incident, and I’m in the middle of the Saturday rush when the door to my café swings open, the door jangling. I don’t even look up as I clip the metal jug underneath the milkshake maker and press the button. ‘Take a seat, I’ll be right with you’ I call over my shoulder to whoever just entered, watching the contents mix and thicken into the creamy deliciousness that keeps my regulars coming back. ‘No hurry’ the deep voice murmurs behind me. I stiffen for a fraction of a second, my hand tightening around the jug handle before slowly turning off the machine and unclipping it.
