We entered the morgue, where Council Member Parker’s body was still being stored until his funeral. Council Member Field was already there waiting for us. He greeted us and showed us to the freezer drawer that was housing Council Leader Parker. Eloise asked for silence and closed her eyes. She started to chant, waving her hands slowly over the body. Her eyes opened, but they had changed. They were now glowing, white orbs. The air felt thick. I wasn’t sure if it was the cold or the magic. After a few minutes, Eloise closed her eyes, and her shoulders visibly slumped. The air seemed thinner suddenly. Her eyes opened slowly, revealing her usual deep brown eyes. “Take me to the room that he died in.” She commanded.
