Reaching the bottom of the spiral staircase, I paused at the door. I took a few breaths and calmed my nerves. Pushing the door open, I prepared myself to fight my way out. Yet, I was surprised to find the hallway deserted. I decided it would be best to shift and use my wolf speed to get the hell out of here. Wherever the hell here was. I let my wolf push forward and felt my bones cracking as I shifted. My paws were much quieter on the cold slabs than my human feet had been. I quickly reached a door in the wall, crashing through it.
