"You need to wait outside, ma'am.." The nurse politely insists as they take Nila into the pediatric intensive care unit to perform tests on her. I can tell she has recognized Kavin from the glint that I see in her eyes but she remains professional to my relief.
"I work here.." Pulling out my ID, I hand it to her, "I'm Dr. Nithila.."
"Oh, sorry. I'm new here.." She apologizes.
"No problem.." I turn to Kavin who's in a cold sweat. "And he's my husband.."
I don't know why I say that but I don't delve too much into the fact.
"Please get in, sir.." She allows us inside and Kavin almost takes a big leap to the bed where Nila is placed.
