CHAPTER THREE DAMIAN She stared at me for a while, her gray eyes narrowed almost in suspicion. Was she always this suspicious of every new face in town or was it just me? Maybe me speaking into her mind earlier must have freaked her out.   “Come on, I won’t eat you,” But I could definitely drain your blood. f**k my vampirism.   Her lips parted into a sigh as she walked on the other side, sliding into the front passenger seat. Even in jeans and messy hair she looked so f*****g irresistible. She looked so edible and last time I had felt something this strong was many years ago.   “Are you sure you are not going to eat me? Because you are staring at me like a juicy steak right now,” A small smile touched her lips and I realized she was just joking but if only she knew how true her statement was.   “Sorry. When I get nervous I rumble things thinking they’ll sound funny,” she tucked a strand of hair to the back of her ear and I had to stop myself from staring too long at her neck.   “So you are admitting I make you nervous,” Her faced heated up at my statement.   “Yeah…I mean no. You are okay though, in terms of looks that is but not really enough to make me nervous. Dammit!” she stopped talking changing her focus to the stretch of almost bare road ahead.   “We’ll see about that,” I smirked, revving the engine.   In less than five minutes I pulled up at the bakery she worked and she jutted up an eyebrow in obvious confusion.   “How did you know I worked here?” And the suspicion was back.   “Wait, really? What a coincidence. I was here to make a cake order,” I had to play my cards well or she would possibly draw the conclusion that I was some stalker which I doubted I was. Maybe I was suddenly obsessed with her scent and the f*****g need to take her right here in my car and drink every drop of blood from her body but I was not a stalker.   “Okay. Thank you for the ride Damian,” she muttered hastily walking out of the car. Was it so bad that even the sound of my name on his tongue was turning me on? A woman I met a couple of hours ago should not make me feel something this intense. f**k! I wanted her so bad for some reason I could not possibly fathom. Maybe it was the aura of innocence that hung around her heavily that was a punishing thought to my brain.   She hurried towards the door of the bakery and all was left was me checking out her perfect round ass straining against the jeans. I wonder what it would feel like to have those ass cheeks on my palms, squeezing and s******g.   She is f*****g human you moron and remember you said no human distraction, my conscious scolded at me, reminding me of my own promise.   Revving out of the area, I drove to the club in town. As I stood outside the painfully familiar place, all I could do is ball my fists while trying to relax my nerves. I walked inside, making my way to the inner glass door. Somber music reached my ears and I closed my eyes briefly before pushing the door open to the dimly lit room. The strong smell of fresh human blood hit my nose, making m fight hand to keep down my imminent hunger. Six human girls all being used as feeding pets by two powerful and ancient vampires.   “You came,” Jace pushed one of the girl’s he had just been feeding on, away from his laps as he grinned at me with his blood stained fangs.   “And the prodigal son comes back home,” At the sound of the aggravating voice I looked up, meeting the old man’s completely relaxed face.   “Yes. The Prodigal son comes back home,” My lips were gritted as I pocketed my palms.   “You are just in time for breakfast son,” He pushed a blonde girl towards me,” You are still into blondes right?” he was totally enjoying this.   “No thanks. I’m not here for your entertainment, father,” the title sounded like some bitter herb on my tongue.   “Business first. You are just like how I remembered you,” he sighed.   “Father,” There was nothing I wanted more than to be out of here.   “I’ve ruled long enough and now it’s your time to take up my position,” he stated nonchalantly as he bit into the arm of the brunette on his lap.   “You are kidding right?”   “I’m not. But before the crowning which is in five days, you’d need a mate,” Anger surged through me all of a sudden, my fangs bared in an instant.   “Mate? You have the f*****g audacity to mention that on my face after you took her away from me. You killed her, remember?”   “Calm down son. You knew she was going to die anyway whether I made her death quicker or not,”
