Charles padded down the back stairs on bare feet, he looked for Elizabeth and paused at the foot of the stairs. She was in the kitchen, but she wasn't alone. Milos was there standing at the counter with a book open in front of him, Agata was sitting at the workbench watching him. Her expression was one that was less resentful than normal, Elizabeth had her back to him and hadn't yet realized he was there. The book Milos had opened was her atlas of Prague, he was trying to explain how to get to one of the shops to her, it reminded him that he had forgotten to grab his wallet.
