Bailee’s POV
Walking back into the house, I find my mother and father standing in the kitchen doorway, Payton tucked comfortably in my mother’s arms.
‘Are you OK love?’ Dad asks me, moving toward me and wrapping his arms around me as Hadley steps to the side to give him room.
I nod, ‘yeah, it was Arthur’ I mumble into his shirt.
My father growls angrily, ‘yeah, I heard his voice, I was going to come out there, but your mother talked me out of it.’
I choke out a laugh, ‘I’m glad’ I reply, ‘me getting into a scrap with him wouldn’t cause a war between our packs, you tearing him limb from limb, well . . I don’t think even Alpha Gerrard could let that slide for the treaty, he is the man’s Beta after all.’
