It felt as if everything came to stand still as the Queen threw the spoon back aggressively into the bowl and the clattering sound echoed around the room. Lylia felt her ears vibrate at that and immediately clenched her eyes shut.
Everyone was staring at her and did not dare to pick their spoons. She swallowed the lump formed in her throat and lifted her head to look at the Queen who was shooting daggers at her, metamorphically of course.
Everyone honored the Queen enough to not take the bite and let her go first so she had no idea what was wrong with the dessert.
"What happened?" She squeaked staring at the white dish in front of her and then back at the Queen.
"Oh, you will find out. Everyone, please take a bite of that dessert" She laughed as she uttered the word dessert.
