Evangelina’s POV
I am pulled out of the memory, looking at Nali and Tali. I am processing what happened and what to do next.
“Did you hear the alarm bell go off at all when you ran?” I ask. They look at each other then shake their heads, no. Thank goddess. That is less of a chance they will follow the scent here.
“We also rolled around in mud to mask our scents.” Nali says, seeming to know my thoughts and I nod my head in acknowledgment.
“Why didn’t you tell your brother what happened before? Maybe get you a new tutor?” I ask and she looks down in sadness.
“I was going to, but then Hadley was always around. I wasn’t going to tell him with HER around.” Tali said in disgust.
“Well why did you run after the attack?” I ask and she looks at me like I am the dumb one.
