Even when we drove back from the diner, Daisy didn't look very keen about going back home. She didn't say anything of course, but I knew that girl. Her fingers kept fidgeting with each other and every time she breathed in, her breath was shaky and uneven. I didn't have to have this conversation with her to know what was going on in her head. She was already worrying about how the conversation with her father would go like once we get into the house again. She had to face him after all. Running wasn't a forever option. And there were also some things I had to talk to her about, which is why when we parked the car in front of her house, I suggested for us to take a walk before going back and she instantly agreed.
