Jacob drives his car on the way to my apartment. I’m surprised, so I ask him, “Love, are we going to go to my apartment?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, I thought we’d go to your place.”
On the T-junction, as the traffic light shows red, Jacob stops the car. He reaches his hand to my right shoulder, and then he bends his head to kiss my left shoulder. “We will only get your clothes and anything you need. Then we will go to my place, honey.”
“Oh, I don’t mind. Your place or mine? We can arrange it, my love. If you want us to spend time at my place, it’s no problem at all for me,” I say.
