Lucas knew that something was wrong.
The second that Rhett seemed like he was expecting, this confrontation seemed enough evidence that Tristen was hiding something. When he excused the man for the expense of what had happened to Tristen, he thought that Rhett would be defensive and leave the second Lucas pressed more on the issue. Yet he was surprised when Rhett looked like he was willing to tell him everything.
