I woke up to the sun shining on my face. I blinked my eyes a few times before getting up and rushing to the bathroom. Ari was quiet. As I finished doing my business, I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Then, what had happened to Benny came rushing back to me. Benny was dead. I had lost one of my mates. Tears began to fall as I sat on the edge of the bed. Images of him flatlining flashed in my head and I couldn’t help but to sob even more. I lifted my head and let out a sad howl. I felt so selfish about being here crying instead of being there for Xavier.
Oh goddess Xavier. He’s probably hurting as much as I am or maybe worse. Just then, the door to the room burst open and Xavier rushed in. He wrapped his arms around me, whispering sweet nothings in my ear.
