We searched for Fern for a couple of days. Oliver and Livy contacted every allied pack and sent them a picture of Fern. To the other packs, they explained that Fern, though lost and confused, was not dangerous.
They told the Alphas that she had been in love with me and had a mental break when my fated mate came into the picture. It wasn’t entirely true, but it wasn’t entirely false. And it would buy Fern more leniency if she showed up at those packs.
Jaden worried about his sister, which I understood, and the other kids asked where she was when I went to visit them with Bailey. I told them she was going on an adventure and didn’t tell me where, but that when we found her, we would all get to hear her stories. It comforted them and I prayed to the goddess it was somehow true.
